VideoForge is a desktop video editor with a proper multi-track timeline rather than a template filler. Bring in video, audio and images, scrub with frame-stepping and J-K-L shuttle, mark in and out points on the source, then build a sequence across as many video and audio tracks as you need. Editing is what you would expect from an editor: split, trim with snapping, drag clips between tracks, ripple and lift delete, cut, copy and paste, multi-select and unlimited undo. Audio shows real waveforms with per-clip gain and fades, track mute and solo, detachable audio and a live mix. On top of that there are cross-dissolve and dip-to-black transitions, per-clip speed changes, brightness, contrast, saturation and gamma, rotation and flipping, canvas-rendered titles and scalable picture-in-picture that match the preview exactly on export, and keyframe animation of position, opacity and colour with linear or eased interpolation. Projects save to a small .vfp file, and export covers MP4 in H.264 or H.265, WebM in VP9, and animated GIF.
