Talkeon is a proper desktop application for talking to Claude, built for people who would rather buy a tool once and pay Anthropic directly for usage than subscribe to yet another wrapper. Conversations live in a sidebar you can create, rename and delete, and they are stored on your disk. Replies stream in with a live cursor and a Stop button, extended thinking appears in a collapsible block, and you can dial reasoning effort from low to maximum with the control automatically respecting what each model supports. Markdown renders with syntax-highlighted code and one-click copy, each chat can carry its own system prompt, and a token-usage readout keeps costs visible. Your API key is encrypted at rest through the Windows credential store rather than sitting in a config file, the interface is entirely self-contained with no CDN, and conversations export to Markdown.
