ReaderForge is a read-it-later system with no service behind it. A Chrome and Edge extension (included in the download) gives any article a clean reader overlay with your own themes and typography, and a Save to ReaderForge button hands the article to the desktop app over a loopback-only, token-gated connection that never leaves your computer. If the app is closed the extension simply queues the article and delivers it later. The desktop side is your library: search, tags, collections, a reading queue, highlights and notes, and an offline image archive so saved articles keep their pictures even when the original page disappears. You can also add articles by URL, import an existing backlog from Pocket, Instapaper, OPML or CSV, and export what you have saved as text, HTML, Markdown, EPUB or PDF.
