NoteForge is a notebook application with no cloud behind it. Write in a real WYSIWYG editor with headings, lists, tickable checklists, tables, code blocks, callouts, links and embedded images. Organise everything into a drag-and-drop tree of notebooks and sections, and find anything again with full-text search, tags and a Ctrl+P quick switcher. Notebooks you want private can be sealed as AES-256-GCM encrypted vaults that boot locked and only open with your passphrase. Storage is deliberately paranoid: every save is atomic, rolling backups run automatically, and each note keeps its own version history you can roll back to. Export a note as Markdown, a single self-contained HTML file with images embedded, or PDF.
